November 14: Miami, FL
Miami is filled with beautiful beaches, hot nightlife, delectable dining venues, and loads of attractions. Arrive early and spend some time enjoying the scene. Today we’ll be boarding Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas for our 7-night cruise to bring holiday cheer and much needed donations to Haiti and children in need. The Liberty of the Seas has some of the most extensive and innovative features of any ship cruising the seas today, including the FlowRider surfing park, an ice skating rink, whirlpools cantilevered off the side of the ship, the expansive H2O Zone waterpark, a host of inviting restaurants, and so much more. Get settled in and enjoy exploring your new home for the next week. Then, our group will meet for a festive welcome event aboard the ship and wish each other “Bon Voyage” as we sail away this evening.
November 15: Day at Sea
Our leisurely day at sea provides the perfect opportunity to relax and get to know each other. The Liberty of the Seas offers loads of fun activities at sea as well as plenty of opportunities to take a dip in the pool, get a spa treatment, catch some rays, play a round of miniature golf, or try out the ship’s rock climbing wall. At our meetings today, we’ll make lots of holiday cards and gift packs for Haitian orphans and school children that will accompany our donations. Remember, most children in Haiti have never received a card – so let’s be sure to make these special. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about voluntourism from leading travel industry executives and others. Get together with friends for dinner at one of the Liberty of the Seas sumptuous dining areas before catching a show and enjoying the nightlife on the ship.
November 16: Day at Sea
Today brings more chances to meet leaders in voluntourism and social media and make lifelong connections. We’ll be using today’s day at sea for meetings, group events and voluntourism activities to bring lots of holiday cheer to needy children in Haiti and Puerto Rico. We’ll do craft projects, put together supply kits, organize our donations, and review our plans for our upcoming ports of call. In addition, our group can learn about the secrets to success in social media. But don’t worry – you’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy all that our magnificent ship has to offer with your new friends. Return to the comfort of your private stateroom for a relaxing night’s sleep – you’ll have lots going on tomorrow.
November 17: St. Maarten
Today, we’ll be calling at an exotic Caribbean island that’s home to two countries: Dutch St. Maarten and French St. Martin. Here you’ll find beautiful beaches, duty-free shopping, fabulous restaurants, exciting watersports, and cool opportunities for island hopping. Explore on your own or take one of the many tours available in port – the choices are all yours! Tonight we’ll get together briefly to discuss the options available in San Juan tomorrow.
November 18: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Our time in port is short in length – but the work our group will do here is huge in heart. We’ll be helping to deliver donations, cards and holiday cheer to disadvantaged children in Puerto Rico at our fabulous Tweet Up for Good event in San Juan. This is a chance to meet active members of the local community, connect with social media friends, and help kids in need. Come join us at this spectacular event or spend your time exploring the cobblestone streets and massive forts of Old San Juan, shopping for handmade crafts, visiting the El Yunque rainforest, learning how Bacardi rum is made, or basking on one of the island’s many beaches.
November 19: Labadee
Our group’s big day! Today we’ll be bringing donations, cards, gifts, foods, school supplies and holiday cheer to many children and families impacted by Haiti’s devastating earthquake. Be here with voluntourism and travel industry leaders as we make our presentations to Airline Ambassadors and For Haiti With Love, two charities making a difference in Haiti. At our beach barbeque, our group will have the opportunity to hear more about the state of Haiti today and how our work will impact the daily lives of children here. Make sure to be present for the festive send-off and our group picture along Labadee’s shores. Remember to bring your group t-shirt!
November 20: Day at Sea
Free day! Check out the ship’s daily bulletin and choose from a wide variety of exciting activities – or just lounge around by the pool. Our fantastic Liberty of the Seas crew fills the day with contests, sporting events, fitness programs, shopping opportunities and fabulous meals. You’ll have plenty of time to get together with the group for discussions, sessions, and camaraderie. Later this afternoon, our group will meet for a farewell event and then it’s on to dinner, live shows, and evening entertainment.
November 21: Back in Miami
Our program ends today as we arrive back in Miami. If you can, take some time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city before heading to the airport on your way home.
